Asia’s largest slum situated in the centre of Mumbai, India. One million people live and work in just under a square mile, making it one of the most densely populated areas in the world. Although an area of massive displacement and poverty Dharavi also has thriving industries with less than 10% unemployment. It also has strong communities, with 27 temples, 11 mosques and 6 churches. The population continues to grow despite the lack of space.
